Larry Drew Woodward, 62, of Amarillo died Monday, Sept. 2, 2013.
Memorial services will be at 6 p.m. today in Paramount Baptist Church Building B, entrance B3, with Dr. Gil Lain officiating. Private burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St.
Mr. Woodward was born Jan. 9, 1951, in Dimmitt to Orville and Vennie Woodward. He graduated from Caprock High School in 1969 and attended West Texas State University. He married the love of his life, Nancy Williams, in 1977 in Amarillo and together they had two children.
Larry previously worked for Bell Helicopter. He was employed by Pantex and had worked there more than 20 years. He was an avid Texas Longhorns, Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers fan. He was a member of Paramount Baptist Church and Novak-Myers Sunday school class.
Family was very important to Larry, and he cherished spending time with them. He was a loving husband, dad and papa and will be missed by all who knew him. Most of all, he loved his Lord and savior, Jesus Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bobby Woodward.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy; two daughters, Amy Woodward Hodnik and husband Josh of Oklahoma City and Alicia Woodward Robertson of Amarillo; a sister, Lavita Fielder of Amarillo; two brothers-in-law, Ron Williams and wife Suzanne of Hurst and Jimmy Williams of Logan, N.M.; four grandchildren, Kayla Jeffers, Nathan Beasley and Gavin and Conner Kime; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorials be to Angel Flight South Central, 2550 Midway Road, Suite 220, Carrolton, TX 75006; Cal Farley's Boys Ranch, P.O. Box 1890, Amarillo, TX 79174; or Paramount Baptist Church Scholarship Fund, 3801 S. Western St., Amarillo, TX 79109.
