Montrose - Dean Lipper, 74, of 711 Walnut Street, Montrose, died Wednesday afternoon, January 29, 1998, at Keokuk Area Hospital.
He was born February 18, 1923, in Clark County, Missouri, the son of Lester and Millie Billings Lipper. He married Marjorie Crum on May 5, 1945, in Kahoka, Missouri. She survives.
Additional survivors include: two sons, Larry Lipper and wife Pam, of Burlington, and Carl "Buck" Lipper and his wife Kathie, of Montrose; a daughter-in-law, Jan Davis of Farmington, Iowa; five grandchildren, Genie Schuelka and Kim of Fort Madison, Robert Lipper and his wife Tammy of Burlington, Lori Hamner and husband David of Argyle, Iowa, Vicki Johnson and her husband Stacey, of Keokuk, and Terry Lipper and her friend, Bill of Franklin, Iowa; four great grandchildren, Austin Schuelka and Shelly Schuelka, both of Fort Madison, Bailie Hamner of Argyle and Brandon Lipper of Burlington; two brothers, Kenneth and his wife Mary, of Kahoka and Bob Lipper and his wife Carol, of North Carolina; five sisters, Diena Stutz of Kahoka, Delila Evermon and her husband George, and Nelda Overhulser and her husband Wayne, all of Wyaconda, Missouri, Willa Bronstein and her husband Virgil of Canton, Missouri, Twila Elder and her husband Jim of Burlington; four sisters-in-law, Irene Frazee of Wayland, Missouri, Doris Heinemen and her husband Pete, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Bessie Lipper of Hamilton, Illinois, and Mildred Lipper of Burlington.
Burial will be in the Montrose Cemetery.
Funeral services are at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Montrose United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Rick Latta and Nathan Frogee officiating.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Shirley Allen, a son Jerry Dean Davis and two brothers.
