William Vines age 88, of Festus, Missouri passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2013 in Crystal City, Missouri. He was born March 20, 1925 in Desloge, Missouri.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years Margie (nee Akers) Vines, God-children Michael Page Jr. and wife Elizabeth of Kansas City, Missouri and Amanda Fischer and husband Tony of Festus and a brother Ronald Vines and wife Madeline of Birmingham, Alabama
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Brannon and Robert Vines and a sister Jeanette Robinson.
He served in the Merchant Marines, Navy and Army and was a Korean War Veteran. He was a retired Educator where he taught at Festus and served as the Junior High School Principal from 1963 to 1986. He also was a Past President of the Festus-Crystal City Rotary Club and member of the Missouri State Teachers Association.
Interment in St. Francois Memorial Park in Bonne Terre, Missouri.
