John was a son of Sarah ( DeWitt ) and Frederick ROYSE.

He was the husband of Hannah ( Stacy ).

John served in the 1812 Indiana Militia, Fifth Regiment then the Ninth Regiment. He maybe taken part in the Battle of the Tippecanoe as a John Rice.

In 1814 he built a Mill on the Blue River River.

John was a justice of the peace.

Chelsea DINN (deceassd) put a marker for the Frederick ROYSE soldier men on Horners Chapel Cemetery.
