BEAUTIFUL FUNERAL SERVICES HELD

Very beautiful funeral services were held for Douglas Mitchell on Thursday last, at 2 o'clock p.m. in the tabernacle. Messrs. Wm H. Lyman, F.C. VanBuren and Walter C. Mitchell were the speakers, all of whom spoke words of praise for the deceased, and of comfort to the bereaved ones. Mr. Clair Hulet of the High School expressed beautiful sentiments on behalf of the school, the choir sang three numbers, and Messrs. Jensen and Matheson of the high school faculty sang a duet, "Day Follows Night". The opening prayer was offered by Brother L.N. Marsden and Bishop Jones of Paragonah the benediction. The basket ball team of which Douglas was a member were the pall bearers. A long procession followed the corpse to the cemetery where the grave was dedicated by Silas J. Ward.

The family is deeply appreciative of the feeling of the community as expressed by the unusually large attendance at the funeral, the beautiful floral offereings, and the assistance proffered and given during the illness and death of the deceased. The thoughfulness and kindness of the community has been a source of much comfort and consolation.
