Ilse Maria Olga Perl Porter, 89, passed away on August 31, 2013 at the Richfield Care Center.

Born January 31, 1924 in Vienna, Austria, to Karl and Olga Jellinek Perl she came to the United States and made a life for herself and her daughter in Utah.

Ilse graduated from BYU and the U of U and was employed by the U of U Library, the Genealogical Library as well as the US Dept. of Transportation.

After joining the LDS Church, Ilse remained an active and enthusiastic member all her life.

Ilse is survived by her daughter, Karin Perl; her granddaughter, Tamra O.T. Makin; grandsons: Barrie C. Makin, Nicholas M. Makin, Alexander J. Makin Sr., Timothy K. S. Makin and Sean P. Pinion; and 14 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Weston E. Porter; and her son-in-law G. Barrie Makin.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 6, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Monroe 1st Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the ward chapel from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Salt Lake City Cemetery at 3:00 p.m.

Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
