MENINGITIS FATAL TO LITTLE MICKELSON CHILD

Hanna Lou, beautiful little child of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Albert and Florence Lyman Mickelson, succumbed early Thursday morning, after a week's illness, to spinal meningitis. Funeral service is being held for her at the family residence this afternoon.

The little one, who would have been two years old within a few days, became ill several days ago, and when her symptoms became serious Dr. Burton was called and then at his suggestion, Dr. Macfarlane and Dr. Bergstrom came up from Cedar City. Her trouble was diagnosed as spinal meningitis and she was immediately given the serum treatment in a futile attempt to save her. She suffered terribly during the last days of her illness. The ordeal was a terrible one for her parents because of the nature of the disease which made it necessary to practically isolate them with her in her suffering.

Besides her parents the little one is survived by three sisters, Alberta, Adrienne, and Glenna; three brothers, Ernest, Albert Leonard and Norman and her grandfather, Oscar M. Lyman, all of Parowan.

The sympathy of the community goes out at this time to the bereaved ones.
