Viona E. Gutshall, 83, a lifetime resident of Buda, passed away Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, at her home in Buda. Born July 20, 1930, in Concord Township, Bureau County, to Max and E. Myrtle (Olin) Behrens, she married Ferris M. Gutshall Aug. 20, 1964, in Buda. He preceded her in death on Nov. 13, 1991. Viona graduated from Buda High School in 1948. She had worked as a waitress and grocery clerk. She worked 34 years as clerk and postmaster in Buda from 1956 to 1990, retiring Aug. 30, 1990. As an active member of Bunker Hill Church of God in Buda she served on the women's mission committee. She also enjoyed Red Hat outings, sewing, crocheting and making cards with friends.
