Mr. Jesse Burel Vaught 90, of Whiteville died Monday, September 2, 2013 in Wilmington. He was born in Loris, SC the son of the late Edgar L. Vaught and Ada Little Vaught. His wife, Mildred Cook Vaught preceded him in death.
He graduated from Elon College. He was a librarian with the Columbus County School System. He was a veteran of WWII having served in the US Army. He was an avid gardener.
He is survived by his daughter, Mary Martha Vaught of Wilmington, a granddaughter, Christine Vaught Jones of Wilmington; a brother, Hoyt Vaught of Loris, SC; a sister, Lucille Pegram of Stokesdale, NC.
His funeral service will be conducted 11:00 am Thursday, September 5, 2013 at Peacock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Twin City Memorial Park,
