She was the daughter of Pasquale Miniaci & Saveria Carolina Aquino. Her siblings were Angelina (b.1856-1927 married Giovanni Imbrogno & resided in Chicago), Maria Saveria (b.1858-1932 married Francesco Spizziri & resided in Chicago), Vincenzo Frederico (b.1860-1933) & Antonio Rosario (b. 1861-1910)
Luigia married Giuseppe "Joseph" Lanza & had 10 children. Carrie 'Enrichetta", Eugenio, Joseph, Charles, Mabel, Florence, Helen, Lester, George & Alfred. Eugenio must have died on the way to the US. Joseph drowned as a child & Charles died in WW1. Luigia ran a rooming house for the coal miners while they lived in Coalbrook, Farrandsville, Pa.
The story in the family was that she died because she was struck by lightning but her death certificate states Apoplexy - a stroke or Cerebral Hemorrhage.
