OSKALOOSA --- Wilbur Acord, 78, of Marshalltown died July 23, 1989, at Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown.
He was born July 22, 1911, in Tilton to Willard and Anna McCulley Acord. He lived in Ottumwa from 1959 to 1985, moving to Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown. He was a self-employed as a truck driver and well digger. He married June Rogers on April 5, 1949, in Halstead, Kan.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Terry of Oskaloosa; and a granddaughter.
The body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorials have been established to American Heart Association or Iowa Veterans Home.
