MOUNTAIN CITY, Tenn. – Brittany S. Brewer, age 18, 315 Hancock Road, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2008, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Brittany was a 2007 graduate of Johnson County, where she was valedictorian, a member of the National Honor Society, FCA, Color Guard, tennis team, Drama Club and a thespian. She was a former cheerleader and had been a band member since seventh grade. Brittany was a freshman at King College where she was a cheerleader and a biology major. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Bill Brewer; great-grandfather and great-grandmother, Tom and Bertha Brewer; uncle, Fred Brewer; and aunt, Kathy Brewer.
Survivors include her mother, Barbara Brewer; two sisters, Christi Jennings and Billie Jean Jennings of the home; father, David Alan Davis of Louisville, Ky.; fiancé, Mark Brenneman Jr. of Mountain City; grandmother, Joyce Brewer; grandmother, Yolanda Setaccioli of Louisville; grandfather and stepgrandmother, Charles and Laura Davis; several cousins, uncles and aunts; and many close friends.
Funeral services for Brittany S. Brewer will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 25, 2008, from the Rainbow Baptist Church, with the Rev. Randy McClure and the Rev. Bob Watts officiating. Graveside services and interment will be in Rainbow Cemetery following services.
Active pallbearers will be Tim Davidson, Steve Warren, Mark Brenneman Jr., Justin Hicks, Jim Anson, Tim Anson, Robbie Brewer and Loyd Brewer. Honorary pallbearers will be classmates and staff of King College and uncle, James Brewer.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008, from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of Hux-Lipford Funeral Home. At other times, friends may call at the residence of her uncle, James Brewer, 1581 Lumpkin Branch Road, Mountain City, Tenn.
