Phyllis Lincoln Miller Alvey, 88, a lifelong resident of Annapolis, died February 23 at Somerford Assisted Living after a long illness. She was born Aug. 13, 1922, in Annapolis, to the late Joseph B. and Gertrude Lincoln, and graduated from Annapolis High School. She worked for the Anne Arundel County government for 25 years. Her hobbies included fishing, crabbing, working in her yard and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas W. Miller, who died in 1983; second husband, R. Bradley Alvey, who died in 2010; son, Thomas W. Miller Jr.; and sister, Elizabeth Clements. She is survived by her daughter, Suzanne Miller Sitar of Annapolis; four sisters, Eleanor Sasso of Florida, Doris Dunleavy of Annapolis, Barbara Lindgren of Severna Park and Marjorie Fitch of Davidsonville; four grandchildren, Robert S. Sitar Jr., Marianne Cook, Vicki Sitar and Jeanne Patterson; and nine great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, February 27 at Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester St., Annapolis, where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 28 in the funeral home chapel. Interment private.
