Elsie Wheeler McAlister, a longtime Prineville resident, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2013. She was 85 years old.
A celebration of life will be held at the Prineville Church of Christ for all friends and family Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013 at 2 p.m.
Elsie was born in Arizona Sept. 8, 1927 to David and Grace Wheeler.
She attended schools and graduated with honors at the age of 16 in McNary, Ariz.
Elsie married Shelby McAlister in McNary, Ariz., on April 8, 1948, and they moved to Prineville, Ore., in 1953. Elsie worked for Consolidated Pine as an office manager/assistant for more than 30 years until her retirement in 1994.
Elsie was a very active member of the Prineville Church of Christ since 1954. She loved being around her church, her family, her friends, and her home. She also adored spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Elsie is survived by her son, Randy McAlister and his wife, Laurie of Tigard, Ore.; granddaughters, Joy Hrenko and Jenifer DeWolfe; great-grandsons, Vaughn DeWolfe and Alec De Wolfe; granddaughter, Jody McAlister; son, Tim McAlister of Terrebonne, Ore.; grandsons, Scott McAlister and Alan McAlister; daughter, Becky Hustoft and her husband, Eric of Happy Valley, Ore.; grandson, Mason Lowen; granddaughters, Kelley Gordon, Cheyanne Pettingill, Caitlin and Kristen Hustoft; great-granddaughters, Aleysa Lowen, Maddison Gordon, and Kimberly Lowen; brother, Ron Wheeler and his family in California.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister.
