Mrs. Jane S. Dukes Chandler, age 73 of Villa Rica, Georgia passed away on Friday, August 23, 2013.
Mrs. Chandler was born in Farmers High, Georgia on June 19, 1940, the daughter of the late Charles "Charlie" Spurgeon Sprewell and Nell Brock Sprewell.
She retired as a rural carrier for the U. S. Postal Services and was a member of Consolation Baptist Church where she served as pianist for 30 years.
Survivors include her husband, William R. Chandler, daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Jean and Perry Millikan of Smyrna, Billie Jane and Russell Gossage of Whitesburg, granddaughter, Mallory Gossage, sister, Joyce Lane of Tyus, stepdaughter, Margaret Tidwell of Carrollton,step daughter-in-law, Melissa Jones/Garner of Dallas, grandchildren by her second marriage, to Mr. Chandler, Charlene and Terry Wilson of Villa Rica, Darlene and Randal Tucker of Ranburn, AL, Anita and Edward Bradbarry of Carrollton, great grandchildren, Alison Tucker, Emily Wilson, Hannah Wilson, Jeremy Wilson, and Ainsley Tucker..
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Willie B. Dukes, brother, Spurgeon Sprewell, and mother-in-law, Florence Dukes.
Funeral services will be Monday, August 26 at 2 p.m. at Consolation Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Powers and Rev. Carlin Phillips officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Tim Lane, Larry Lane, Ricky Lane, Steve Lane, Eddie Duncan, and Tommy Holland.
Interment will be in the church cemetery.
