Brooker - Mrs. Inez Hinton Green, age 94, of Brooker passed away peacefully Friday morning August 30, 2013 at the E.T. York Haven Hospice Care Center in Gainesville surrounded by her family. She was born in Jasper, Fla. On April 27, 1919 to the late William Henry and Mittie Moore Hinton, she has lived most of her life in Brooker. She and her late Husband G.E. Green owned and operated Green's General Store for many years until his death. She was a member of the garden club for many years and was involved in many other activities around Brooker as well. Mrs. Green was a member of the Brooker Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher. She is preceded in death by her loving husband George Earl "G.E." Green; three brothers and three sisters also precede her.
Mrs. Green is survived by her daughters, Shirley Green of Brooker, Linda Cox (Tommy) of Brooker and Cherie Barco (Smokey) of Lake City; brothers, Bill Hinton of Edmond, OK and Bob Hinton of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; five grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Green will be conducted on Monday, September 2, 2013 at 3:00 P.M. in the Brooker Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Samson officiating. Internment will follow in the New River Cemetery.
