Carrie E. Cook, age 69, passed away Friday, June 28, 2013 at her home near Hiram.
She was born September 1, 1943 at Hiram, the daughter of Pete and Flossie (Moyer) Green. She was a lifelong resident of Hiram and worked for many years at the International Hat Factory and later for the Paramount Hat Factory in Marble Hill. She was of the General Baptist faith.
She was married November 17, 1958 to Loy J. Cook at Grassy and he passed away April 23, 2009.
She is also preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Flossie Green, 2 infant children, Betty Lou and Lester Wayne Cook, and 1 sister, Vercie Haydu.
Survivors include 4 children, Junior Cook and his wife Kathy, of Hiram, Linda Garcia and her husband Kenneth, of Hiram, Lisa Cook of Hiram, Barbara Cook, of Zalma; 3 brothers, Lloyd Ray Green, Edgar Dolf Green and Robert Green, all of Hiram, 3 sisters, Peg Young, of Des Moines, IA, Ann Borcherding and Faye Groppe, both of New Haven, MO; 12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at 6:00 PM Monday at the Morrison-Worley Funeral Chapel in Greenville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Richard Baker officiating.
Interment will be in the Cowan Cemetery near Hiram
