Mary Liz Bradley had a Kentucky State Certificate, diploma from Chautauqua, N.Y., a Blue Seal diploma from Nashville, TN and graduated from Georgetown College in Scott County, Kentucky. She was a school teacher for a number of years before she ran for the office of Superintendent of Schools. She became the first woman to ever be elected as Superintendent of Scott County schools, serving from 1913-1923. In 1918 she installed the present graded school system.
She married Will Moss of Millersburg, Ky. She resigned as Superintendent in Dec. of 1923 due to ill health. She then moved to San Diego, CA. and opened the Mary Bradley Moss School for mentally handicapped. She ran the school for 25 years, retiring at the age of 97.
Mary Liz Bradley Moss died August 6, 1976.
