Lorenz C. Elmshauser was born July 17, 1905 on a farm near Beaver Crossing and died October 18, 1985 in Lincoln at the age of 80.

His parents were John D. Elmshauser and Marie Leybold Elmshauser. He was married at Wellfleet on November 17, 1929 to Alice A. Wells of Cook. They had one son, Ronald Elmshauser, currently living in Lincoln, Nebraska.

He was baptized on August 6, 1905 and confirmed on April 13, 1919 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church at Waco and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lincoln.

His early life was spent living and working in and around the communities of Waco, Seward, Lincoln, and Crete. In 1937 he moved to Beatrice where he worked for 21 years for Store Kraft Manufacturing Co. In 1961 he moved to Lincoln where he continued to work as a cabinetmaker until retirement. He was a retired member of Carpenters' Union 1055.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Alice, who died on March 6, 1983 and a brother, Milton.

Survivors include his son, Ronald; brother, Reuben of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and two sisters, Miss Hedwig Elmshauser of Beatrice and Mrs. Esther Bausano of Steeleville, Illinois.

Funeral services were held October 21 at Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete with Rev. Donald D. Loesch officiating. Special music was by Ernest Welsch. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery in Crete.
