Funeral services for Ms. Linda Gayle Finch, age 61 of Childersburg, will be Saturday, August 31, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland with David Rozelle officiating. Burial will follow in the Wewoka Cemetery in Talladega County.
Ms. Finch passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at her home. A native of Talladega County, she was a former resident of Clay County, but had lived in Childersburg for the past 20 years. Linda had worked at Higgins Manufacturing and was currently employed as a housekeeper at Cheaha State Park.
She is survived by one son, Tony Nicholes (Kelli) of Ashland; three sisters: Sara Shirey (Buck), Emma Earline Tillery, both of Chandler Springs and Betty "Betsy" Wheeler (David) of Talladega; one brother, Edward Moore (Pat) of Ashland; three grandchildren: Miranda Searcy (Dexter), Clint Nicholes and Anthony Nicholes; two great-grandchildren: Destanie and Nevaeh Searcy. Mrs. Finch was preceded in death by her parents: Rudolph Earl Moore and Jewel Waites Moore.
Pallbearers will be George Shirey, Robert Shirey, Alvin Shirey, Rodger Shirey, Ricky Shirey and Bobby Joe Hogan. Honorary pallbearers will be Adam Moore, Randy Moore, Clint Nicholes, Anthony Nicholes, Miranda Searcy and Dexter Searcy.
