W. Elmer Eppley Dies in Philadelphia Hospital

Mechanicsburg, Pa., Dec. 1. - W. Elmer Eppley, a farmer of Silver Spring township, near Hogerstown, died yesterday morning at the Medico-Chi Hospital at Philadelphia, where he went about ten days ago for treatment. He underwent an operation about one year ago for stomach trouble. Mr. Eppley is well known in this place, where he lived and was in business for a number of years. He was a member of Commonwealth Council No. 597, Independent Americans, and Trindle Spring (sic) Lutheran Church. His wife and the following children survive: Edward, Roy and Weir Eppley, all living near town; also two brothers and three sisters, as follows: Charles S. and John L. Eppley, Miss Minnie Eppley and Mrs. William H. Stout, of Mechanicsburg; Mrs. J.R. Hertzler, of Hampden township.

The body will be brought to his late home in Silver Spring township, but no arrangements have yet been made for the funeral.

HOGERSTOWN, Dec. 3. - The funeral of William Eppley, who died Friday at a Philadelphia hospital, was held this afternoon from his home, near here. The services were conducted by the Rev. S.S. Garns, pastor of the Trindle Springs Lutheran Church, and the Rev. T.J. Ferguson, pastor of the Presbyterian Church. Burial was in the Camp Hill Cemetery.
