Obituary from U. S. Quaker Periodicals, 1828-1929- Christian Worker, page 174.
McCOY.--Died near Pleasant Hill, Howard county, Indiana, after an illness of over four months, February 16, 1889, Harvey McCoy, son of Joseph G. and Laodicea McCoy, (the former deceased) in the 40th year of his age, a member and elder of Pleasant Hill Monthly Meeting of Friends.
The deceased leaves a wife and five children who have the full assurance of his happy entrance into a haven of rest.
His long illness was borne patiently and with quiet resignation to the Divine will. He often admonished those around him of the great necessity of being ready while in health to meet death.
He talked of death with perfect calmness, bidding his friends good bye, as though going on a pleasant journey, saying, 'meet me in heaven."With a shout of triumph his spirit took its flight to be forever at rest.
Funeral services were held at New London on Feburary 19, a large concourse of sympathizing friends being present.
