Maxine Jackson Freeman, 85, of Sutton, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 13, 2010.
She was born October 29, 1925, to the late Ira J and Lucy Mae Stonestreet Jackson.
Maxine was a member of Sutton Baptist Church for 53 years, and a lifelong resident of Braxton County. She graduated from Sutton High school in 1944. She was employed by Braxton Motors, Martin’s Supermarket, and Thomas Electric before retiring in 1982.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Gladys Brown (Cab) and Janet Loudin (Paul); and one brother, Gale Jackson (Lillian).
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Odis Freeman; son, Otis Freeman Jr. (Kathy); daughter, Sharon Freeman-Wine (Larry); brother, Gerald Freeman (Lillian); four grandchildren, Chris Freeman (Jennifer), Cindy Wine (Jefferson), Greg Wine (Alissa), and Travis Wine; six great-grandchildren, Chandler, Karen, Jackson, David, Skylor, and Connor; and five step-great-grandchildren, Cheyana, Dekota, Cordell, Brent, and Bradley.
Funeral service will be held at 1 pm Thursday, November 18, 2010, at Sutton Baptist Church, with the Rev. Allan Copenhaver officiating. Burial will follow in the Braxton Memorial Cemetery.
