Kimberly Rene Horton, 43, of Dallas died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013, in Dallas.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Oasis Southwest Baptist Church in Amarillo with Ron Scrader, pastor of God of Wonders Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St.

Kimberly Rene was born Dec. 17, 1969, in Amarillo to Garland and Christy Horton. She grew up at Lake Tanglewood and attended Canyon schools. She was an avid basketball player and graduated with the class of 1988. She went on to earn her bachelor's degree at Texas Tech University.

She was a medical auditor in Lubbock and Dallas with the firms of Durban and Co., Ernst and Young, Omnicom, and Jefferson Wells. She also was an auditor in the comptroller's office at Baylor University Medical Center, Dallas.

Kim was an active member of First Baptist Church of Dallas. Kim loved music, sports and adored her little "peanut," Ian.

She was a faithful daughter, cousin and friend.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Cordelia and Garland Horton Sr.and Earl and Vada Loper.

Survivors include her son, Ian Alexander; her parents, Garland and Christy Horton; cousins, Janice Stoner, Joseph and John Horton and Brad and Andrea Loper; and an aunt and uncle, Linda and Donald Loper.
