Ava N. Hamrick, age 94, of Franklin, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2018. She is preceded in death by her parents Mr. Thomas and Susie Mae Thrasher; her husband, Raymond B. Hamrick; two brothers, Thomas A. Hamrick, Charles W. Thrasher; two sisters, Dorothy Page, Betty Watts. She is survived by her daughter, Billie Hamrick and sister in-law and best friend, Betty Mack Thrasher. Ava worked for Macys department store at Union Square, San Francisco, CA, in the cosmetics department for 35 years. Aside from her professional career she enjoyed being with family and friends. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband as a professional baseball player for the Nashville Vols, Philadelphia Phillies baseball team and lastly with the Oakland Oaks in CA. She was a member of the Granny White Church of Christ. Ava loved to cook for friends and family during gatherings and was an excellent homemaker in every sense of the word. She was glamorous and elegant and described by her family as a wonderful wife, mother and friend. Ava will be missed by all those who knew her and loved her. Graveside services for Ava will be conducted from the grounds of Historic Spring Hill Cemetery, 5110 Gallatin Road, Nashville, TN, 37216, on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Noon. Arrangements by Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery.
