and George M. Dodd, Sr. and passed away April 21, 1997 in the
Ranchwood Nursing Ceter at the age of 86 years, 8 months and 29
days.
Alta moved with her parents to Rankin, Roger Mills County community
and graduated from High School. She married Harry King Abbott on
February 20, 1931 South of Rankin, OK. They lived in Redyon before
moving to Elk City in 1937. In 1944 they moved back to Reydon and
later moved to Midwest City in 1956. They moved to Yukon, OK in 1973
to make their home. She was a member of the Elk Creek Primitive
Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband
and 2 brothers (W.E. "Dick" and George M., Jr.)
She is survived by 1 daughter and son-in-law, Alleta and Billy Dodd,
Yukon, OK; 1 son and daughter-in-law, Harry and Donna Abbott,
Oklahoma City, OK; 4 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 1
brother, Donald D. Dodd of Edmond, OK; 4 sisters, Alma Graham of San
Diego, CA, Hazel Crume of Albuqurque, NM, Ruth Cather of Edmond, OK
and Orabelle Kennedy of Texas; and a host of relatives and friends.
