Arnold Jesse Adams, 63, Route 10, Lenoir, died Monday night in a local hospital following a short illness.
A retired lumberman, Adams was born May 21, 1907, in Watauga County, the son of the late Elbert and Robertha Adams.
Surving are his widow, Mrs. Mary L. Chester Adams; four daughters, Mrs. Harley (Helen) Clontz, Route 7, Morganton, Mrs. Tom (Betty) Thompson, Route 1, Lenoir, Mrs. Earl (Norma) Nichols, Route 7, Lenoir, and Mrs. Charles (Hilda) Nichols of Greensboro; five sons, Jesse Adams, Route 7, Lenoir, Luther Adams, Route 1, Lenoir, Lloyd Adams, Wild Cherry Lane, and Gary and Joe Adams, Route 10, Lenoir; two sister, Mrs. Clinard Jackson and Mrs. Rae Church of Lenoir; and 22 grandchildren.
The body is at Lenoir Funeral Home pending completion of funeral arrangements.
