Jack ADAMS Jr., 77, of 5727 S. 1000 West, Mentone, died at 12:15 a.m. Friday at his residence.

Born in Kosciusko County to Jackson and Pauline Personette Adams, he was a 1946 graduate of Beaver Dam High School.

On May 21, 1949, in Argos, he married Aleene Lowry. She survives at home. He worked for the Kosciucko County Highway Department for 13 1/2 years. He was a milk hauler in his earlier years, had worked at Utters Service Station, Mentone, and was the former owner of J & A Car Wash, Akron.

He is also survived by one daughter, Diane and husband Rick Landis, Macy; two sons, Dennis and wife Cindy Adams, Winona Lake, and Gary and wife Jeni Adams, Akron; five grandchildren, Heather Adams, Jamie and Ryan Adams, and Jennifer and Jeremy Landis; one sister, Bonnie Summe, Albion; and two brothers, Raymond and wife Marilyn Adams, and Jim and wife Margaret Adams, all of Akron.

His funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron, with the Rev. Don Poyser officiating. Burial will be at Akron Cemetery, Akron. Visitation will be from
2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
