Obituary from Butte's Montana Standard 08/29/2005:

Almetta Blanche Kramer died at her home Saturday evening surrounded by her family. She was born in Coleraine, Minn., on March 22, 1921, to William and Blanche (Deal) Mackie. She had attended Itasca College in Minnesota.
She married Harold "Curly" Kramer in Butte on April 16, 1945. He died in 2002. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two sisters and her son, William "Buddy" Barnes.

She had worked at the Medical Arts Building and then for Dr. Staples as a janitress.

She belonged to the Women's Auxiliary of the Moose Lodge and was the only woman from Butte to receive her cap and gown from them. She was also a member of the Eagles Auxiliary.

She loved camping, fishing, crafts, bowling, swimming and bingo. She enjoyed being on her computer and meeting new friends from all over the country in chat rooms. She loved going to the Belmont Senior Center and being with friends and people. She had been a Cub Scout Den Mother. In her youth she worked at the world famous Brown Derby and met many of the famous movie stars of her day. She was a nanny to movie star Dennis Morgan's children.

Almetta was a devoted wife and mother and enjoyed the company of friends. She loved people and meeting new friends and sharing stories. She enjoyed hearing a good joke and telling a good joke. Almetta loved all kinds of crafts and was always busy with some project and loved to share her knowledge and joy of crafts with others.

Almetta will be loved and missed greatly by all whose lived she touched and will make a wonderful addition to the Lord's Kingdom.

Survivors include her daughter, Bonnie Blevins, Butte; sons and daughters-in-law, Raymond and Judy Kramer, Butte; Robert and Susie Kramer, Butte; grandchildren, Raymond and Chris Kramer, Robin and Jason Gifford, Monica and Rebecca Barnes, Charlyn Dias, Tammy Best, Teresa and Tim Gardner, Donald Mallow, Michael Mallow and Gary and Paula Mallow; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. in Wayrynen-Richards Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Moslander officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Memorials: the Belmont Senior Center or to Highlands Hospice.
