Verna married Raymond Fletcher on December 24, 1947. They had one son. She worked at the local woolen mills until they closed. Verna then went to work at G. W. Plastic in Bethel, VT where she worked for over eleven years. Later she was employed as a machine operator at Timken Aerospace, (Split Ball Bearing) in Lebanon, NH until her retirement in 1987. Mr. Fletcher died in 1984. Verna lived with her sister in South Royalton for many years, before moving to Randolph and eventually back to South Royalton until her health failed and she moved to the Johnson's Care Home where she has been for the past year.
She was predeceased by her husband, her three brothers, Raymond, Gordon and George Becker, and her grandson, Frank David II. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Diane Fletcher of South Royalton, VT, two granddaughters, Dyana and Crystal, two great granddaughters, Eve and November as well as several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Saturday morning, August 31, at 11AM in the Branch View Cemetery in South Royalton, VT. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 434 Hurricane Lane, Williston, VT 05495.
