Born in Lee County, she was a daughter of the late Arthur James and Ella Mae Nesbitt Windham. She was employed by Pioneer Dress Co., Campbell Soup Co., and retired from Gold Kist. She was of the Pentecostal faith.
Survivors include two daughters, Pam Shumate (Robert) and Karen Somheil (Dennie), both of Sumter; three grandchildren, Jason Flagler, D.J. Welch and Brittany Flagler; a great-granddaughter, Brooklin Rose; a sister, Betty Welch of Sumter; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Kathryn Atkinson; and three brothers, Frank Windham, Harvey Windham and Buddy Windham.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery with the Rev. Mary Watford officiating.
Pallbearers will be Jason Flagler, D.J. Welch, Robert Shumate, Dennie Somheil, White Newman and Paul Thrower.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of Robert and Pam Shumate.
