Barbara A. Boykin, 53, died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003, at Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center in Hartsville.

Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late William T. Boykin Sr. and the late Mamie Irick Boykin. She was a member of Green Acres Assembly of God Church and was previously employed by The Pantry and Young's Food Stores.

Survivors include a sister, Elizabeth Carter and her husband, Richard, of Sumter; a brother, George Wesley Boykin Sr. of Sumter; a very special friend, Brenda Cockerill; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home with the Rev. Donnie Collins and the Rev. Buddy Griffith officiating.

Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Richard Carter, Brett Norris, Billy Fields, Kenny Norris and George Wesley "Bubba" Boykin Jr.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Carter, 180 Marshall Cemetery Road.
