Hannah Miles, born December 12, 1764, in Phila. County, wife of Judge Joseph B. McKean. Daughter of Samuel Miles (Mar. 11, 1739 - Dec. 29, 1805) and Catharine Wister (Jan 2, 1741 – Oct 24, 1797).

Hannah Miles was married, April 13, 1786, to Joseph B. McKean, at the First Baptist Church, Philadelphia.

Miss Sallie Wister, whose journal was published in the Pennsylvania Magazine (vols, ix, x.), was a niece of Mrs. Colonel Miles, and mentions her cousin Hannah Miles. An oil painting of Colonel Miles by Stuart is in possession of the Misses McKean, of Washington.

Judge McKean died intestate in Philadelphia, September 3, 1826, and was buried in the graveyard of the First Presbyterian Church; Mrs. McKean died in Philadelphia, March 2, 1845, in her 81st year.
