In 1920 she and her husband and their three children lived in a house they were renting at 409 East Eighth Street (now NE Second Street) in Aledo, IL. He worked as a general house carpenter.

In 1930 she and Glen and their four youngest children lived in a house they were renting for $15 a month at 310 East Tenth Street (now NE Fourth Street) in Aledo. They did have a radio. He worked as a carpenter on house building.

In 1940 she and her husband and their three youngest children lived in a house they were renting for $18 a month at 615 North Locust Street (now NW Third Avenue) in Aledo. Glen worked as a carpenter on building construction, with an income in 1939 of $840 for 28 weeks of work, and Kenneth as a waiter in a restaurant, with an income in 1939 of $20 for 12 weeks of work.
