Melissa Lynn Coffey, 38, of Muncie, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at Ball Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.

She was born July 22, 1971 in Muncie. She attended Muncie schools, graduated from Muncie Southside High School in 1989 and Indiana Business College in 2008.

She worked several different places which included six years at the Union Chapel Nursery, Lowes, K-Mart, Ball Memorial Hospital in the pathology department, First Merchants Bank insurance department, C. J. Banks and Wal-Mart.

Melissa was a member of Union Chapel Church, loved rafting and parasailing, and was always involved with children.

Surviving are her parents, Kelly and Janet R. Winchester Coffey of Muncie, Indiana, sixteen aunts and uncles; and thirty-two cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lillie and Herbert Coffey and Dester and Sylvia Winchester.

Funeral services were held at 3:00 pm Friday, October 16, 2009 at Parson Mortuary with Pastor Glen Greiner and Pastor Daryl Parsons officiating. Burial was in the Tomlinson Cemetery.
