Doris was born in Phoenix to R. B. & Hazel Duncan and named "Betty".
In Jan 1927 she was adopted by Oscar & Erma Shepard and named "Eve". Sadly Erma died Feb 5, 1927 of influenza.
In June 1927 "Eve" was adopted by Nat & Opal Starnes and named "Doris". She was greatly loved and cherished by the Starnes.
Doris worked for many years in Houston, Texas as a secretary for an oil and gas company. After living many places in the USA with her family, her favorite place was still the gorgeous hill country of Texas.
First husband was Jimmie Glen Terrell; they were married June 17, 1946 in Lubbock, Texas; they divorced 1977 Houston, Texas. Two sons survive her, Bill and Randy.
Her ashes were scattered along the shores of the Guadalupe River near New Braunfels, an area which she adored.
