Joseph I. Ratajczak, aged 52,of 114 North Olive street, died at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday in Epworth hospital after an illness of two days. He was born in Reading, Pa., Jan. 18, 1893, and came here 40 years ago. On Feb. 6, 1912, he was married in St. Adalbert's Roman Catholic church to Miss Frances Przybylska, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Alfred (Ray) Ratajczak, of Mishawaka; two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Paszek and Mrs. Esther Moore, both of South Bend; four brothers, Michael, Vincent and Casimir Ratajczak, all of South Bend, and Rev. Louis Ratajczak of Hobart, Ind.: two sisters, Mrs. Catherine Kryza and Mrs. Victoria Przybylska, both of South Bend, and six grandchildren.
Friends will be received in the home after 6 p.m. today. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Stanislaus' Roman Catholic church by Rev. Anthony J. Rosewicz, C.S.C., pastor, in the absence of Father Ratajczak, who is seriously ill. Burial will be in St. Joseph's cemetery.
