He was born in Fort Mill, a son of Melvin and Virginia Price. Mr. Price was a human recourses executive at Lewis Grocer of Indianola, Miss., Athens Furniture in Athens, Tenn., and Sumter Cabinet and Burgess-Brogdon in Sumter. He was a Mason, an avid golfer and enjoyed hunting. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a member of the Woodward Avenue Church of God in Athens.
Surviving are two sons, Todd Price and his wife, Yvette, of Anderson and Mike Price and his wife, Allyson, of Moorhead, Miss.; a stepson, Terry McDaniel of Indianola; a stepdaughter, Cheryl Winters and her husband, Mike, of Athens; his fiancé, Dena Fender and her children, Trudie Black and James Fender, both of Columbia; a sister, Yvonne Oliver of Belvedere; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Carol Price of Lancaster.
He was preceded in death by a brother, John A. Price.
Services will be held at a later date.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Bullock Funeral Home.
