Funeral services for Charles W. "Chuck" Lane, III, 79, of Monroe, will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, September 3, 2013 in the chapel at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe with Rev. David Richter officiating.

Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Lane died Thursday, August 29, 2013 at his residence.

He was a retired air traffic controller and a member of Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Mr. Lane served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korea Conflict. He was active in the ULM Alumni Association and was an OPHS Booster. He was an avid bowler and loved his grandchildren.

Mr. Lane was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-two plus years, Margaret Ellen Cassady Lane; daughter, Debbie; brother, Richard, and sister, Pat.

Survivors include his grandchildren, Cassady Lane Adams, and James R. "Chip" Adams, II; sister, Elizabeth Soder and husband George; son-in-law, James Adams of Monroe; and numerous godchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Monday, September 2, 2013 at the funeral home.
