Fought at the battle of Guilford C.H. supposed to have been in the Virginia Mil. Br Augusta Co, Va 1750. Parents: William Wardlaw, Janet Harper his wife. Mar: Janet Downing. Children: William br 1771, Samuel 1773, Martha 1776, John 1779, Janet 1784, James 1788, Joseph and Hugh (twins) 1791. D1824, Brown Co, O. Bur family Cem on farm near the present hone of J.R. Robert was the sixth and youngest son of William and Jane (Harper) Wardlaw. Three of his brothers, John, Hugh, and Joseph also served in the Revolutionary War as part of the South Carolina Militia. Robert was named for his grandfather Robert Wardlaw, the original Wardlaw immigrant from Scotland and patriarch of the this line.
