Leon Cleo Rodda, born March 26,
1905 in Providence township, Buena
Vista County, to Frank, and Etta (Coats) Rodda.
He was married to Ann Andersen
on Aug. 27, 1928. Two children
were born to them: Janice (Mrs.
Leo Miller) of Sheffield, Ia., and
Bill Rodda, D.D.S. of Charles City,
Ia. There are five grandchildren:
Curt, Elise and Kristie Miller and
Brad and Karin Rodda.
He was a member of the Nain
Lutheran Church, Newell, a Farm
Bureau member, had served nine
years on the Sulphur Springs
School Board, a member of the local
and Quad County Horseshoe Pitching
~Association and has been
co-chairman of Spencer Fair Horseshoe
Pitching Tournament since its
inception. His enthusiasm and
teasing competitiveness contributed
much to the advancement of the game.
