William Cowell is first found in the 1870 census when he migrated from Durham, England. He married Agnes Young abt 1875 in Pennsylvania. William and Agnes migrated to Illinois after their first daughter Phillis was born in 1876. Other children born to William and Agnes were Agnes, Eunice, William, Robert, Thomas, and Mayme. They lived the rest of their lives in Christian Co. Illinois. Both Agnes and William are buried in Oak Hill Cemetery.
