HARRISBURG - Cindy Ward, 51, passed away at 8:45 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, 2007, at her residence.

Cindy was born in Odessa, Texas on October 25, 1956, to the late Dale and Patty (Lewis) Plunk. She married Eddie Ward on November 17, 1974, in Tuscola. Eddie survives in Harrisburg. Cindy was a member of First United Methodist Church in Harrisburg. She was a teacher for Harrisburg High School where she taught special education. She was very active with the Special Olympics. Cindy held a master's degree in education and was pursuing a master's degree in administration.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Tamara Ward of Washington, D.C., John Michael Ward and wife, Debra (Cox), of Edwardsville and Lindsay Ward of Harrisburg; a sister, Lawana "Cissy" Sigler and husband, Jake of Tuscola; nieces and nephews, Cassie of Harrisburg, Shelby and Samantha Sigler of Tuscola, Tommy and Bobby Plunk of Odessa, William and Christine Ward of Oklahoma City, special aunt and uncle, Peggy and R. B. Peterson of Rogers, Ark.; and brother and sister-in-law, Lonnie and Mary Alice Ward of Highlands Ranch, Colo.

She was preceded in death by parents; brother, Tommy Dale "Bud" Plunk; niece, Carie Sue Sigler; and father-in-law, John W. Ward.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 5, 2007, in Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, with the Rev. Paul Widicus officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, 2007, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Special Olympics. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
