BAKER, BERTHA ELMA VICK
Bertha Elma Baker, 90, died Friday, April 13, in the Eastern New Mexico Medical Center, South in Roswell, New Mexico after a short illness.
Services were held Monday, April 16, at 10 a.m. in the Riley Funeral Chapel in Hamilton with Rev. Gerald Stanford and Rev. Harold Horn officiating. Burial was in the Shive Public Cemetery..
She was born Oct. 17, 1899, in LaVaca County, Texas. Her parents were John and Dora McCullough Vick.
October 22, 1922, she married Ira E. Baker in Hamilton. He survives her at their residence in Artesia, New Mexico.
She was a resident of Hamilton for may years, but has lived in New Mexico for the last two. She was a homemaker and a member of the Sardis Primitive Baptist Church.
Other survivors include five children, Vivian Bubert, Betty Jane Thompson, JoAnn Lee , Ira J. Baker, and Grady Roy Baker; a sister, Ruby Lee; a brother, Bud Vick; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren.
Two sisters and one bother preceded her in death.
Pallbearers were Herbert Seilheimer, Darwin Stanford, Jerry Bubert, Jerry Baker, Bratton Arnett, and Roy Harris.
