Daniel Stewart Kline, 23, of West Lafayette, died at 1:00 AM Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at IU Arnett Hospital after injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born November 8, 1989, in Lafayette, to Stewart and Suzanne Randolph Kline of West Lafayette.

He graduated from West Lafayette High School and attended Purdue University for four years, still seeking a career. Daniel along with being a student, was an assistant manager at Discount Den and a waiter at Jake's Beach House in Monticello. He was a member of First United Methodist Church where he was part of the praise band, volunteered for the AV team and has done fall clean ups for the elderly. While in high school he lettered in 3 sports, track, baseball and was co captain of the soccer team and also punted for the football team his senior year. You may watch a video on You Tube where Daniel faked a punt and ran 72 yards for a touchdown in 2007. It was a TV-18, Friday Night Frenzy, Play of the Week. He finished the Indianapolis 26 Mile Marathon in 2009. Along with athletics he also excelled in academic's being inducted into National Honor Society as a junior. He was also a gifted artist and has won many champion ribbons in 4-H. He donated many graphic designs and portraits for friends and family. This year he designed the campaign T-shirt for a young woman that was running for Purdue Student Government Vice President and designed the BGR logo for Boiler Gold Rush T-shirts. In his last act of kindness, he had noted on his driver's license that he wanted to be an organ donor. Four major organs were not damaged by the accident and four people received them on August 28. His sacrifice has inspired many of his friends.

Surviving along with his parents is a sister Adrienne K. Weliky (husband Gordon) of West Lafayette. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Friday, August 30, 2013 at First United Methodist Church with Funeral Services at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 31 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Craig LaSuer, Rev Daniel Berger and Rev. Kate Walker officiating. Burial will follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens Cemetery.
