SCHILDROTH, Donald 1927 - 2013 Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at Victoria General Hospital in Victoria, BC, after a brief illness. Loving father of Vicky Schildroth and Lisa (David) Stacey. Grandfather of Andrew Stacey and William Stacey. Predeceased by his beloved wife Collette (2008), a loss from which he never fully recovered. He also greatly missed his lifelong friend, Lloyd Totzke. Predeceased by his parents Alberta and William Schildroth, sisters Winnifred Kropp and Eileen Schweitzer, brother Lester Schildroth, and nephew John Schildroth. Survived by many other relatives and good friends who will mourn his passing. Don was a lifelong lover of the arts. He was happiest when he was painting, reading, gardening, listening to CBC Radio 2, or sharing his love of history in a good conversation. Cherish your memories of Don because that is how he will live on in all of us. As expressions of sympathy, please consider a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. A gathering to celebrate Don's life will be held at a later date.
