She was member of St. Marys Catholic Church.
Cecelia is survived by two daughters, Nancy Carol Hayden Byrnes and husband Frank of Cunningham and Cecelia Elaine Jarvis and husband Rick of La Center, seven grandchildren, Sharman Booker and husband Tony of Cunningham, David L. Hayden of Detroit, Michigan, Patti Andrews and husband Mark of Reidland, Stephanie Dunn and husband Don of Kirbyton, Kentucky, Matthew Rankert of La Center, Ryan Rankert of Columbus, Indiana, and Adam Rankert of La Center, eight great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lucian "Josh" Gupton, one grandson, Mark Andrew Hayden, five brothers; seven sisters and her parents, Joseph Benjamin and Henrietta "Hettie" Jane Hayden Cissell.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2009, at St. Marys Catholic Church in La Center. The Rev. Julian Ibemere officiated. Interment was at Roselawn Cemetery in Bardwell.
