Her SS Application says her father is Fred Amenda and her mother is Louise Buck, however Fred and Louise are divorced in 1920 census and by 1930 Fred has a new wife and several children and Louise is a housekeeper with just Carmen and Carmel living with her. The girls last name in 1930 is Guinter. In 1940 the 3 of them are living with the oldest son Fredrick Amenda and the girls are listed as his nieces. I think, but cannot prove that their mother is Louise's daughter Louise Caroline Amenda and that Louise (grandmother) raised them. Carmel's SS Application says her father is Edward Guenter and her mother is Louise C Amenda. Why the girls who are twins do not list the same parents I have no clue.
