JJohn Barker was probably born in 1563 in Nayland, Suffolk, England and baptised there on April 30, 1563. His parents were John Barker and Margaret Maull or Mawle. His father was a cloth maker, and John probably was too. He married Margaret Walter on June 29, 1585 at Stoke Nayland. She was the daughter of Richard Walter and his wife Margaret, and was baptised at Nayland on September 8, 1564. John and Margaret had eleven children baptised at Nayland. John died in March of 1617 and was buried in the churchyard of St. James’ Church at Nayland on March 10, apparently without a will. Margaret remarried, a man named Munnings of Colne Engaine, Essex.
