Edgar Joseph Pierce, 76, a native and resident of Cut Off, died at 10:43 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mass will be at noon Tuesday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.

He is survived by two sons, Keith Pierce and wife, Sharon, and Kipp Pierce and wife, Nicole; two daughters, Darlene Vega and husband, Paul, and Stacie Bellanger; one son-in-law, Billy Bellanger; three brothers, Horace Jr., Calvin and Nolan Pierce; two sisters, Verna Gros and Rena Gautreaux; seven grandchildren, Dawn and Danielle Pierce, Deke Bonvillain, Bryan James, Billy Bellanger Jr., Carly Plaisance and Sophia Pierce; and nine great-grandchildren, Meranda Plaisance, Dylan Rousse, Abbey Griffin, Brenden Friel, Tahj Bonvillain, Jaely Plaisance, Nate Bellanger, Mya Bellanger and Cally Plaisance.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Cheramie Pierce; his parents, Horace Pierce and Marie Abribat Pierce; and two brothers, Larry and Harry Pierce.

He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
